Flashback to Feelin' Free

Thursday, January 14, 2016

Hey friends! Time for a little throwback Thursday...
I just found these pics from this past end of summer, and am withdrawing pretty hard!
We have been lucky here on the east coast these past few months, with pretty much skipping over
most of the brutal weather that comes with the winter territory. But alas, it has finally shifted,
and I'm just going to have to suck it up! I always ask myself why I choose to live in a
place where being miserable for a quarter of the year is guaranteed,
but the answer is really something you can't explain...

New York comes with a price, but I am so grateful to pay the price that so many
people dream of doing. New York really is a magical place, and I mean ALL of New York state.
So many people get caught up with skyscraper dreams that so often represent what NYC living is.
But, NY has so much more to offer. Maybe I will have to share some of my favorite upstate
New York places & hidden gems with you guys on a future post to prove it! But until my
fingers defrost I will just keep daydreaming about summer, while secretly being
obsessed with the change in season. *presses play on empire state of mind *

What I'm Wearing:
Vintage Hat + Bolo - American Gypsy Vintage
BDG Jeans from UO
BC Footwear Sandals

Inside The Vegan Cuts X Leaping Bunny December Beauty Box

Friday, January 8, 2016

I'm so excited to share another Vegan Cuts Beauty Box review with you guys!
You may already know a little bit about Vegan Cuts from my past Snack, Beauty, &
Yoga Box reviews. But incase you are new- Vegan Cuts is a monthly subscription box &
marketplace that delivers the highest quality of vegan beauty, fashion, and food products
from the most honorable companies in the industry right to your door for $19.95 a month +
free US shipping ($8 to Canada + $15 internationally). Inside you will find 4-7 sample
or full sized products such as new items from brands you already love, the next big thing
to fall in love with, and buzzworthy products that your friends keep talking about.
All curated with love by some of your favorite leading people in the vegan community.
If you like what you find inside your box (trust me.. you will), you can easily
pick up the full sized version from the Vegan Cuts Marketplace.

This December's beauty box felt extra special to receive right before the holiday,
especially with all of the surprises waiting for me inside. I was so anxious to tear open the
extremely cute & illustrated box! Once I did I was super excited to try each and every
product to discover some new favorites & replacements to the items I currently use.
But the best part about this months box? Vegan Cuts partnered with Leaping Bunny
to create a 100% LB certified box! Leaping Bunny is an organization formed to help make
shopping for animal-friendly products less confusing, by giving their internationally
recognized Leaping Bunny logo to companies who are making a difference. You can now
rest assure in your purchase whenever you see their logo while shopping. This month's
beauty box also contains a super helpful cruelty-free pocket shopping guide from Leaping Bunny.
An extremely  convenient tool to keep inside of your wallet for easy reference.

What's Inside The Vegan Cuts December Beauty Box:

Demes Cleansing Oil and Makeup Remover:
Obsessed seems like a good place to start for me with this one! I am a firm believer in cleansing
oils, & never have less than 4 different ones on my bathroom counter at a time. I wear pretty heavy
eye-makeup, and nothing helps me easily melt it away like a cleansing oil. With all of the cleansing
oils I've tried in the past, this one from Demes really stood out on it's own. First of all- the
scent is divine! Demes's blend of essential, olive and castor oils gently melted away all of
my makeup, without stripping my skin's own sebum, unlike most alcohol based
removers that do so harshly. Oil cleansers are nothing to be afraid of! They're nothing but
beneficial, and leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated.
Once you try one, you'll never go back to astringent removers.. I promise.
Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Pressed Cheek Color in Sweet Sixteen:
You can never have enough blush! I love blending my blushes into my eyeshadow as well,
to give touch of warm depth to a flat look. This color is very sweet, goes on smooth, &
is infused with beneficial skincare elements. Ingredients like jojoba to nourish, broccoli seed
to moisturize, lecithin to restore, orange peel wax to provide an antimicrobial protective barrier,
allantoin to encourage new tissue growth, and zinc to fight against free radical damage
with it's natural UVA & UVB protectant. Needless to say, this blush works harder than I do.
Acure Cell Stimulating Facial Mask:
I currently use some Acure products, and am already a huge fan (their balancing rose + red tea spray toner is my current obsession!). Obviously, I was extra excited to give this new mask a try
while doing some much needed relaxing & unwinding this holiday break. The job of this mask?
To supercharge and repair your cells with its chlorella growth factor, resulting in optimum replenishment that your skin will more than thank you for. Moroccan argan oil, seabuckthron oil,
& CoQ10 give you a serious moisture surge, while french green clay pulls out of the nasty impurities.
You'll love how fresh, firm, glowing, and toxin free this mask leaves your skin feeling.
Adding this one to my necessity pile, for sure!
Crazy Rumors Cinnamon Bun Lip Balm:
I've heard a lot about Crazy Rumors tasty flavors, but have had yet to try them!
Sinfully tasting (and with 100% natural ingredients) lip balms can be really hard to find. Most flavored & scented balms usually end up feeling thick and heavy because of their artificial
fragrance, that you usually want to remove them only a few minutes after applying. I’m so excited
to try some other flavors that Crazy Rumors has to offer like Spiced Chai, Coffee Bean,
Orange Creamsicle... are you drooling yet?! Seriously you guys, they have TONS of creative flavors. This cinnamon bun one though? Hands-down the start to my new Crazy Rumors addiction.
Auromère Ayurvedic Toothpaste:
If you know me personally, you are aware that I am a huge believer in Ayurvedic living practices.
I’ve recently have been incorporating more and more of them into my daily routine, and have
certainly benefited from doing so. I was thrilled to add Auromere’s ayurvedic toothpaste into my
current cleansing routine. This particular toothpaste contains the natural fibre peelu, the astringent
properties of neem, as well as 24 types of plants, roots, flowers, & barks praised for centuries by
Ayurvedic gurus.  Not to mention it's free of artificial sweeteners, dyes, harsh chemicals, gluten,
& fluoride. All very important things, that I personally look for my toothpaste to be free of.
Forget your brainwashed notion that natural toothpastes don't work, because this one definitely
gets the job done! The squeaky clean, and invigorating minty fresh feeling it leaves behind says it all.
Concrete Minerals Eye Shadow In Smut:
We all know that I never go a day without a smokey eye, so I was totally stoked to finally try
Concrete Minerals loose powder eyeshadow. Their brand esthetic is totally up my alley. I'm already
in love with the brand's wide color range, and pride in their formula. Keeping the entire brand free
of gluten, parabens, talc, preservatives, bismuth oxychloride, nasty fillers, and fragrance is seriously
something to applaud. Even the most sensitive skin can finally feel safe wearing makeup,
without sacrificing color options and pigment. Not to mention, they are super affordable.
This mineral eyeshadow for example retails for only $8.00!

How To Get Your Own Vegan Cuts Subscription:
Vegan Cuts truly stands behind their values, and it shows in the care and thought that goes into
each & every curated box. Their subscription boxes make healthy items accessible and
discoverable to all, no matter where you may live. I guarantee that you will discover a new favorite,
and possibly life changing product or brand in every box you receive.  If you're not ready to commit

Holiday Travel Made Simple with Sakroots

Thursday, January 7, 2016

Happy New Years babes! If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I’ve
been on a little cruise getaway this holiday break. The thing I like about cruises, is that I don’t
have to worry about keeping my over-packed bag under 50 pounds like when flying
(don’t judge me. I always travel super heavy!). The struggle for me is always trying to pack
my things in a way that the weight is evenly balanced. I usually stuff my suitcase to the brim,
and carry-on my important things in a backpack. All while trying my best to look low-maintenance,
but there is no hiding the fact that I am far from. Enter the bag that saved my life- Sakroots!
Not even exaggerating, this duffel bag fit over 15 outfits (with room to spare) & magically
managed to stay super light. It pretty much saved my life during this trip.

Luckily I was introduced to Sakroots just in time to say “bon voyage” with ease and style.
And lucky for you I’m also doing a Sakroots 24-hour giveaway here on Instagram,
so you have a chance to fall in love with the brand too!

Sakroots is colorful brand that features everything from jewelry, to shoes, to just
about everything you need for travel. The brand stands out with originality in their collections
that mirror their strong community of artists, as well as their commitment to giving back
being a core value of each purchase. Each bold print and eccentric accent in all of Sakroot’s
products appeal to a different carefree inner artist & nature-loving spirit in us all.
Sakroots curated their own hand-picked artist circle, who create the beautiful &
original artwork featured in each collection.

One thing that I love most about Sakroots is their “Choose Your Karma” initiative.
They have partnered with a handful of charitable organizations, all which share the same
belief of "peace & harmony among all things". Each print is tied to a different organization that represents this value. They believe in giving you the choice of what charitable organization you
choose to donate to at checkout, in which Sakroots will match your donation!

The Radiant One World Printed X-Large Duffel  I’m wearing here was created by
Diane Barcelowsky, an art teacher from New York. Her design represents the belief that
“we all share one world, one dream of peace.” This particular print helps support the
Elephant Nature Park, an elephant rescue and rehabilitation center in Northern Thailand.
The #chooseyourkarma effect of this print supports the park's ability to rescue,
and rebuild their elephant herd within a natural environment full of love and care.
You can learn more about this inspiring cause here.

What I'm Wearing:
Unakite Bracelet c/o Sisco + Berluti
Tool Cuff c/o Beaucoup Designs
Necklace c/o Katie Dean

Seriously obsessing over this SheIn Maxi Dress,  that was perfect for frolicling around the
Bahamas in. I can't wait to pair it with a black floppy hat, and some booties for a totally
different look. From beach to NYC street, I'm totally in love!

Peace, Love, & Good Karma,
xo leleloveleigh
